On Tuesday the 3rd Bootle Scout group visited Croxteth Park and made some new friends.
Jake introduced the group to the animals they were going to meet and how the are safely handled by staff at the park. The group then took part in a series of quizzes and activities.
Once the quizzes were finished, we went outside to meet the animals.
First up – it was the chickens.
Jake brought out a few of the Park’s chickens and showed the group how to hold them safely. A few of us had a go! The chickens were brilliantly behaved and didn’t mind being passed around the group.
Up next was the ferret’s.
Jake brought out two of the Park’s ferrets. The group had the opportunity to hold and stroke them – even Kev had a go!
The tortoise, lizards and snakes where next.
Some of the braver cubs had a go of holding the snake!!
A big thank you to Jake for showing us all of the amazing animals.
