Volunteer with us

Join the Adventure – Volunteer with 3rd Bootle Scout Group!

At 3rd Bootle Scout Group, we’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help inspire local young people to gain new skills, grow in confidence, and make amazing memories.

What we do

Our group is full of energy and adventure, offering something for every age:

Beavers (6–8 years) – Busy, curious, and full of fun! Beavers love trying new things, from crafts and games to simple outdoor adventures.

Cubs (8–10½ years) – Always up for a challenge, Cubs enjoy activities like campfire cooking, hiking, and learning teamwork through games and creative projects.

Scouts (10½–14 years) – More independence and excitement! Scouts take on bigger adventures like camping trips, pioneering projects, and community service.

Explorers (14–18 years) – Building leadership and life skills through expeditions, volunteering, and mentoring younger Scouts.

Every week brings something new — from camping under the stars and learning digital skills to pioneering challenges and craft sessions.

What you’ll gain

Volunteering with Scouts isn’t just about giving back — it’s about growing yourself, too.
You’ll:

  • Learn new skills like teamwork, leadership and communication

  • Build confidence through hands-on experiences

  • Make friends and become part of an amazing local community

  • Feel proud knowing you’re helping shape the next generation

No experience needed — just enthusiasm and a sense of fun!

How you can help

You don’t need to be a Scout expert — just someone who cares about helping young people succeed.
There’s a role for everyone, whatever your schedule:

  • Leaders and assistant leaders – Help plan and run exciting meetings and adventures.

  • Occasional helpers – Pop in when you can — even an hour makes a big difference.

  • Trustees – Support the group behind the scenes by helping guide and manage our future.

Whether you can give a little time or a lot, your contribution will help young people gain confidence, learn valuable skills, and make lifelong friends.

You’ll also join a welcoming, supportive team of volunteers who share a passion for making a difference (and having plenty of fun along the way!).
